This is based on the true story of the life of Pedro J. Gonzalez. As a boy of sixteen Pedro fought in the Mexican Revolution of 1910. For the next seven years he served under General Pancho Villa. Eventually he came to the United States with his wife and worked to better the lives of Mexican-Americans in California during the Depression years and to help reform the California penal system.
