Composers from many different cultural backgrounds (American, Canadian, Thai, Chinese, Korean, and Middle Eastern) were asked to composer based on one of the world's most popular pieces, Paganini's 24th Caprice for solo violin. No boundaries were set regarding the nature of the compositions and the composers were free to compose whatever they wanted, as long as there was some connection to the caprice.
