Honoring Johann Martin Friedrich Nisle, whose oeuvre seems to have been forgotten already toward the end of his long life and unfortunately has been neglected by the music world right through to the present day. Wrongly so, as the compositions recorded here teach us, for in them we encounter a musician who presents himself as an original exponent of early romanticism with a pronounced talent for melody.
