Description
A semi-autobiographical film of Fellini about a film director (Mastroianni) who finds himself creatively barren at the peak of his career. He fantasizes at a resort to get away from the pressures of wife and staff.
Description
Simple story of a family living in war-devastated Rome. The father finds a job pasting up signs--work requiring a bicycle on which to get around. When his bicycle is stolen, the father and his son are forced to steal one in desperation and are caught. The film won the Academy Award for best foreign film in 1949 and is a prime example of the "Neorealist" school of Italian cinema.
