Celebrated new-music sextet eighth blackbird, whose last three Cedille Records albums garnered Grammy awards, continues to soar with this album, a selection of four world premiere recordings plus a concert performance of Philip Glass's influential Two Pages.

The ensemble Eighth Blackbird performs new music composed by the six members of Sleeping Giant (Timo Andres, Christopher Cerrone, Jacob Cooper, Ted Hearne, Robert Honstein, and Andrew Norman) who each chose a work belonging to the Maxine and Stuart Frankel Foundation of Art to use as inspiration for their musical contribution.
