Memoirs of a leader in the Betar movement in Vienna, who describes his role in the escape of ca. 40,000 Jews from Europe to Palestine in 1937-44. Perl was arrested in 1938, but managed to convince Eichmann and others to allow him to help Jews emigrate in order to make the city "judenrein".
