When Henry and his dog Mudge go with Henry's parents to visit Great-Grandpa Bill in the home with lots of other grandpas, they lead them all on a wonderful adventure.

But Bessie -- their stove -- is on the blink. Thank goodness their neighbor, Mrs. Teaberry, has agreed to let them use hers. But her dog, Zeke, is not in the mood for cooking!

With his fine cat Tabby at his side, Mr. Putter bakes a Christmas cake for his neighbor Mrs. Teaberry.

After the death of the beloved aunt who has raised her, twelve-year-old Summer and her uncle Ob leave their West Virginia trailer in search of the strength to go on living.
