Description
Boyd Matson travels to Egypt's Western Desert, once an immense ocean, where 400 whale skeletons are buried beneath the sand, including the basilosaurus, an archaic whale species which may further the evolutionary story of whales. Off Sable Island, Nova Scotia, female harbor seals wait to give birth to their pups. Crittercam explores the male serenading call and the potentially harm that man-made sounds have on their music. Join a 24-hour inventory of living organisms in Rock Creek Park, Washington, D.C.: 600 species amid diverse wilderness. The Sahara's shifting sands are swallowing Africa's Mauritania, and its capital city, Nouakchott. With the help of the acacia tree and simple ingenuity, Mauritania's people are fighting back.
