Description
Two years after the January 13, 2010 earthquake, George Stroumboulopoulos reports from Haiti, where two thirds of the population is without formal employment, 500,000 remain displaced, only a fraction of international donations have reached targets, and the cycle of foreign aid dependency continues. Locals, activists, and foreign and Haitian NGO representatives agree that Haiti needs investment in education and infrastructure to rebuild its economy and society, and call for a paradigm shift granting government autonomy. Includes interviews with Paul Haggis of Artists for Peace and Justice, former politician and activist Patrick Elie, musician Lolo Beabrun, former NHL player Georges Laraque, and ActionAid representative Jearn-Claude Fignole.
