Description
Little Dorrit is a miniseries produced by the BBC and WGBH Boston and based on Charles Dickens' serial novel. In Episode 7, Mr. Dorrit returns to England with the newlyweds, Fanny and Edmund Sparkler. Mr. Merdle offers to help him invest his fortune; Arthur Clennam also decides to invest Doyce and Clennam capital in Merdle's bank. Mrs. Clennam is suspected of involvement in Rigaud's disappearance. Arthur is convinced that Rigaud's hold over the House of Clennam has to do with the family's secret past; he hires Mr. Pancks to find Miss Wade, hoping she can lead him to Rigaud. Mr. Dorrit becomes paranoid that society members know about his impoverished past which is made worse when John Chivery visits unexpectedly. He returns to Venice in a confused mental state, intending to propose to Mrs. General, but declines rapidly.
