Description
EVALI stands for E-Cigarette or Vaping Product Use Associated Lung Injury, a range of illnesses caused by electronic cigarettes and vaping devices. An outbreak of EVALI in 2019 led to the discovery that substances in use in common vaping products are harmful to the lungs and can cause serious respiratory disease and even death. This severe health risk, in addition to the financial costs of vaping and the risk of forming an addiction to nicotine, makes it clear that the choice to vape is a serious one. Many vaping products are unregulated, which means that some may contain much higher levels of a harmful substance than others. And while frequent vaping may increase one's risk, even one-time or minimal use can expose you to dangerous consequences.
