General Note
In the 1st work the 2nd violinist doubles as DJ, controlling amplified ensemble's mix and adding effects and CD samples; 3rd work for flute/piccolo, oboe/English horn, clarinet, bass clarinet, bassoon and French horn; 5th for flute/piccolo, bass clarinet, violin, viola, violoncello, double bass, percussion and piano.
General Note
All works are based on previous musical works, the 1st on the music of Tchaikovsky in particular, the 2nd on Vivaldi's Four seasons, the 3rd on Holst's Planets, the 4th on the keyboard suite of Renaissance and Baroque times, in the final movement adding elements of Jimi Hendrix, and the 5th on Canada's national anthem.
