"Platero y yo ... is the allegoric story of a friendship between Platero, a donkey, and the poet himself. While walking across the gentle Andalusian landscape the poet, together with his faithful friend, conjures up scenes from his youth. As the poet explores illusions and certainties, the donkey, through his wisdom, assists him in rediscovering his love for life"--Insert, p. 7
