Bound by the promise made to his dying uncle, Sir Tristram Shields finds himself betrothed to his effervescently romantic French cousin Eustacie. Young and eager to experience an adventure, Eustacie is not pleased with the arrangement and runs away. She is soon captured by a band of villains, amongst whom her cousin Ludovic, a fugitive heir and presumed murderer, is hiding. Eustacie and Ludovic embark on a quest to find "The Talisman Ring" which will prove Ludovic's innocence. Surprisingly, Sir Tristram and Miss Sarah Thane, innocently caught up in the action, will become their allies to clear Ludovic's name.
