Description
Addresses disability across the life course through delineation of various age phases and key cross-cutting, lifelong issues that impact the lives of people with disabilities. The authors discuss disability considerations, challenges, and supports at six life stages: birthrights and early childhood; childhood; youth; adulthood; aging; and death and dying. They also include transition periods, which can often be particularly challenging to individuals with disabilities and their families. The key cross-cutting issues that the authors highlight are: family; health; policy, legislation, and service; and self-determination and participation.
