Description
While the men at Fort Concho had important work to do for the government, and life was conducted in a military atmosphere, the garrison's inhabitants constantly searched for diversions which would alleviate their boredom. Women seemed to suffer most of all the people at the post and their attempts to relieve the misery probably were the most creative.
