Description
75,000 miels of travel in all Canada's ten provinces and its two northern territories have gone into this book. The land and its people, how they came together, and the economic and political patterns that emerged during the centuries, are the subjects of the early chapters. In the second part, the author discusses the Canada of the late 1960s, the country of Expo '67, of the Trudeau movement, of separatism in Quebec, and of a flight to the cities that is destroying the traditional image of Canada as a rural land.
