The Stuff of Family Life looks at the changing world of families through a unique examination of their stuff. The book takes readers through phases of family life, examining our choices about spaces and objects.

This book is a portrayal of class inequalities in the United States. It contains analysis of the processes through which inequality is reproduced, and it engages with methodological and analytic dilemmas usually glossed over in academic texts.
