Antonio Caldara's work is a musical serenade of operatic magnitude that was originally composed for the court of Austrian Emperor Karl VI. Unearthed by Andrea Marcon, this work receives its world premiere recording.

The Accademia degli Arcadi - that pioneering literary circle established by a group of poets, composers, aristocrats and churchmen -- championed a return to classical and pastoral ideals.
