Henri Marie Raymond de Toulouse-Lautrec-Monfa or simply Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec ; (24 November 1864 - 9 September 1901) was a French painter, printmaker, draughtsman and illustrator whose immersion in the colourful and theatrical life of Paris in the late 1800s yielded a collection of exciting, elegant and provocative images of the modern and sometimes decadent life of those times.

Despite a short life marked by illness, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec produced numerous works. Unable to take part in many of the activities of the able-bodied, he lived for his art and became a Post-Impressionist painter, an Art Nouveau illustrator, and a remarkable lithographer. Toulouse-Lautrec is known as a brilliant artist whose remarkable skill of observation was doubled by a deep sympathy for humanity.
